Projects

Collections

Most of my collection projects are from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum where I gained experience in preventive conservation and restoration of metal, creating custom housing for objects, art handling, and PastPerfect database management.

I also took classes for my graduate degree that were instrumental to my collections education, especially Collections Care and Management, Indigenous Cultural Heritage, and Preventive Conservation.

Research and Evaluation

I have experience with Research and Evaluation from both The Children's Museum of Indianapolis (TCMI) and the Indiana State Museum. A lot of my projects involved working with the exhibit design and program development departments to assist them in bettering visitor engagement and experience.

I am particularly proud of my work with Treasures of Ancient Greece for TCMI where I helped with observations, data collection/cleaning/analysist, and co-writing and presenting the summative evaluation for the exhibit.

Museum Education

I worked on the floor at TCMI for 4 years delivering world class programs for children and their families. During my time there I worked in the several galleries including a pre-school aged exhibit (Playscape), a science based exhibit (ScienceWorks), and an exhibit that focused on children from history who used their voices to change the world (Power of Children). I'm also helping to create programming for the Indiana State Museum's exhibit FIX: Heartbreak and Hope Inside Our Opioid Crisis.

That experience combined with classes I took in graduate school, like Museum Education and Museums, Health, and Well-Being have prepared me to create and deliver excellent formal and informal learning experiences for museum visitors.
