Community Projects
I was incredibly lucky to attend a Museum Studies graduate program that allowed us to get hands on experience with local museums and communities. Check out some of my work below!
Eagle Creek Ornithology Center
For Preventive Conservation class we were able to assist the Eagle Creek Ornithology Center by cleaning and assessing their taxidermy specimens. We were also able to improve their current integrated pest management strategies by increasing the number of traps and placing them in more strategic locations.

This project was a fantastic opportunity to get hands on experience in the types of collections I believe are vital in getting the public interested in the nature in their own backyards.
Circle City Clubhouse
For Museums, Health, & Well-Being we worked with the Circle City Clubhouse, an incredible organization that assists people diagnosed with a mental illness in finding meaningful work as a way to recover personal agency and purpose.

We assisted them with developing a new tour for their facility by helping them to define who their audience was, what the purpose of the tour was, what stories they wanted to tell, and how best to convey those stories to donors and potential members.
Masonic Library & Museum of Indianapolis
For our Museum Administration class we designed new a Strategic Plan for the Masonic Library & Museum of Indianapolis. We worked to understand the museum's strengths and needs, the environment in which it operates, and the museum's unique value proposition.

Once we understood the museum's current situation we proposed new goals and strategies to reinvigorate the museum's purpose and future.
Wayne County Historical Museum
For our Exhibit Design class we assisted the Wayne County Historical Museum by presenting them with updated designs for their exhibits. My team worked on the Victorian Drawing Room Exhibit. We were able to provide them with fresh ideas for their object list, color pallet, exhibit layout, exhibit labels, case designs and education goals.

This project was a great way for me to transfer some of my scenic theatre skills to the museum world!
